LAD #36: FDR’s Declaration of War

Roosevelt declared war on Japan, Germany, and Italy on December 8, 1941, one day after the surprise bombing of Pearl Harbor, titling the day of the attack as "a date which will live in infamy". Roosevelt proclaimed that the only way to protect the American people was to go to war. Jeanette Rankins was the only person to vote against going to war.
