LAD/Blog #7: Washington's Proclamation of Neutrality

Washington's proclamation of Neutrality declared that the United states would not pick sides in the French Revolutionary wars of 1792 to 1802. The document states that any American citizen caught aiding or encouraging groups involved in the war, or providing them with items considered contraband, would be punished under the laws of the Nation who's law they broke.
During WWI the united states' Neutrality Act kept them out of the beginning of the war.
